Evolution's Achilles Heels DVD

Achilles Heel. Noun. A fatal weakness despite apparent strength and invulnerability (derived from Greek mythology). In almost every argument, theory, and idea there are points of weakness. Places where there is missing information or undiscovered answers and solutions. Textbooks and secular science will not teach you the Achilles heels of evolution, instead they will be quick to point out the weaknesses in other theories. From Creation Ministries International (CMI) comes a documentary that discusses these points of weakness, or holes in information--Evolution's Achilles Heels. Join fifteen PhD scientists-- all with degrees from universities similar to their evolutionary counterparts -- as they discuss the biggest weaknesses in the modern evolutionary theory. Learn about natural selection, genetics, the geologic column, radiometric dating and more in the powerful documentary Evolution's Achilles Heels, that will make you consider the way you view the world from a new angle.

Natural Selection

The theory which evolution and the majority of secular science is based on-- natural selection-- may not be as solid as textbooks would have you believe. In Evolution's Achilles Heels several scientists discuss facts that are well known in the science world, but rarely seem to trickle into education or the rest of the world. Robert Carter, who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Miami, points out that survival of the fittest is not a cut and dried method. Sometimes the strongest, fastest, biggest animals do not survive, while the more susceptible, smaller, weaker animals do. David Catchpoole from the University of New England in Australia discusses how natural selection cannot generate anything new. Natural selection can only operate on what is existing, and it can only remove, not add. As scientists discuss natural selection in Evolution's Achilles Heels viewers may come to realize evolution is only a theory, not a proven scientific fact.

Genetics And DNA

Genetics. The very thing that makes every living thing what it is. The center of what makes each individual person an individual person. Several scientists who specialized in genetics discuss this topic in Evolution's Achilles Heels. One makes the point that all modern (emphasis on modern) scientific evidence points to the decay of original good design. Basically everything started good and is getting worse, not the other way around. The human did not come from a puddle, the human is turning into the puddle!

The Origin Of Life

Central to the evolution versus creation debate is the origin of life, and this topic is discussed in Evolution's Achilles Heels. Though many secular scientists will claim that the origin of life is not part of evolution their beliefs and education material claim differently. Several scientists, including Dr. Jonathan Sarfati from Victoria University ofWellington in New Zealand, discuss how evidence for a primordial soup (which evolutionary scientists believe life evolved from) is missing in geologic records and other areas.

The Fossil and Geologic Records

Fossils and the geologic record offer some of the most difficult holes for evolutionary scientists to overcome. As Evolution's Achilles Heels points out, the very existence of a fossil is proof that something happened really fast. If that is true-- as science has proven-- then the rocks the fossils are found in must have been formed quickly as well. Several geologists show how the evidence we see in the geologic records point to a catastrophic event-- like the account of Noah's flood in Genesis.

Radiometric Dating

Evolution's Achilles Heels dives deep into the world of dates, carbon fourteen, and debated numbers as respected scientists discuss the flaws of Radiometric dating. Problems with this dating method are discussed, such as the fact that even if the whole earth was pure carbon fourteen it would only last and be detectable for millions of years (scientifically proven fact!). How then, can objects that are claimed to be millions and millions of years old still have detectable traces of carbon fourteen.

Cosmology

Space captures the imagination and fascination of individuals ages four to ninety-four. Something about the unexplained mysteries and new discoveries of space captures people's attention. In Evolution's Achilles Heels several field experts-- including Dr. Jim Mason a nuclear physicist, Dr. Mark Harwood a satellite specialist who helped launch Australia's national satellite system in the 1980s, physicist Dr. John Hartnett, and Dr. Stuart Burgess who has worked on projects for the European Space Agency-- discuss holes and problems with today's evolutionary theory as it regards to the great unknown of space.

Ethics And Morality

In addition to discussing the science side of the creation versus evolution debate in Evolution's Achilles Heels, each Ph.D. holding scientist will discuss the ethic and morality side of the debate. If intelligent design is really the answer to the origins of Earth, the implications are heavy and important. Using historical and philosophical examples each will discuss how the way we view and understand our world changes the way we act.

Conclusion

Evolution's Achilles Heels offers a glimpse into the problems with the evolutionary theory and explores the theory of intelligent design. Whether studying science, or interested in understanding the world through a different lens, this documentary will challenge and expand your understanding of the world you live in.

Evolution's Achilles Heels has not been rated by the Motion Picture Association of America, and may include complex topics and issues that could confuse younger viewers. This film did receive the Faith Friendly award for all ages from the Dove Foundation. As always, it is recommended that parents preview all content to determine what is suitable for their children, but Evolution's Achilles Heels is considered appropriate for most audiences.
