Do You Believe? DVD

Do You Believe? is an inspiring Christian film that asks only one question. This question of belief demands to be answered, and this film is very thought provoking. Twelve different people are all moving in different directions. They each are yearning for something more, but aren't sure how to find what will fulfill them. As their lives suddenly and unexpectedly intersect, every single one of them is about to discover how powerful the cross of Christ is, even if they don't believe in it yet. When a preacher on a street corner proclaims his faith, it rocks the world of a local pastor. This man's visible faith reminds him that faith must always be followed by actions. His response to this man sparks a faith-filled journey that impacts everyone it touches in a way that only God can achieve. Filled with triumph and failure, belief and unbelief, this film shows a wide range of experiences that all result in the same question being asked. Some will survive this trial and overcome their doubt, while others will not. Dramatic and moving, this film is a powerful depiction of the importance of belief. From the creators of God's Not Dead, Do You Believe? is more than just a movie. It asks an important question that will lead viewers to reevaluate their faith and grow stronger in their belief.

Different Lives, Same Question

Throughout the film Do You Believe? twelve very different characters are presented. Each has had their fair share of struggles, and each is wondering if there is something more to get out of life. Soon, their lives begin to intertwine, and they all ask themselves the same question. Do I believe? Each of these characters has a very different journey to the same question, showing that all men are in desperate need of God. Some of the characters are Christians, while others are devout atheists. Some have never seen God at work and some have seen him every day. This shows the importance of belief in every person's life. Though some seem to have it all together, their belief is still not strong enough. In order to fully believe God, our faith must be followed by action and demonstrated in our everyday lives. This film uses its wide range of characters and situations to stress the importance of belief in one's life.

A pastor in a local church, named Matthew, is out walking one night when he sees an old street preacher on the corner. This man is vocal and has a faith that is vivid and tangible. Matthew is shaken by this, as the man asks him one simple question. Do You Believe? He begins a journey to find the answer to this question and reignite his faith. This journey impacts others around him, sparking others to ask themselves that same question.

An older couple have lost their only child. Matthew and his wife are unable to conceive a child, desperately asking God to help them. A mother and young daughter find themselves homeless, unsure what to do. A young nurse and her husband are ensnared in a court case that threatens to tear their lives apart. A single, young mother is about to give birth, and she is terrified of being alone. A veteran of war returns home with extreme PTSD. A young woman, who is suicidal, seeks to reconcile her relationship with her father and wants to feel loved again. As well as all these characters, a street gang become caught up in the equation. One of the members unexpectedly stumbles into the church to hide from the police. While in here, he is confronted with one question.

Do You Believe? that is the question that haunts all of these characters. They each have their own trials and struggles. Some of them ask God for help, while others try and survive on their own strength. Even those who claim to believe are forced to reevaluate their lives and ask themselves if they truly believe. Is their belief one that comes with complicated stipulations or is it simply for show?

The entire film revolves around this question of belief. How does one increase their belief and have their prayers answered? The answer to this question is simple. You must have faith like a child, and you must believe that God will do whatever his will is. Even if the outcome is not what you want or expect, God is orchestrating everything. This is the kind of belief that will not be shaken by trials.

The hardest thing for the characters of this film to learn is that God is indeed behind everything. Even when situations have a devastating outcome, God is still working things according to his will. When bad things happen, God is not causing them, but he is indeed working through them. Trials on this earth are meant to refine us, and he uses everything that comes our way to mold us into the people we are intended to be.

Do You Believe? is a wonderful Christian film that is fast paced and will entertain viewers. Not only is it entertainment, but it is thought provoking and deep. The exploration and evaluation of belief is something that everyone must do at one point in their lives. Faith cannot be stagnant, but must be refreshed and active. The characters in Do You Believe? find this out in different ways. Some of them have their prayers answered, while others do not survive the trial. Through it all, good and bad, God's hand is at work and is actively orchestrating these events for his divine plan and purpose. The important thing to remember is to believe that no matter what, God is in control.

Do You Believe? is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America, for thematic elements, an accident sequence, and some violence. It is always recommended that parents preview all content to determine what is suitable for their family to watch.
