Bridge to Babylon - Rome Ecumenism and the Bible DVD

Since 1881, 2 scholars named Westcott and Hort have promoted a revision of the New Testament that would send waves of shock throughout the world of academia. This new textual theory demonstrated the KJV (King James Version) was full of errors, despite having been trusted for ages. Long cherished sacred readings were now declared to be forged. The world was now being informed that the book, once thought to be the inerrant Word of God needed to be corrected.

This theory claimed now that new manuscripts had been discovered showing a truer version of God's scripture. There were some who warned that these manuscripts, in fact, were the creation of early Gnostic teachers (heretics) which had rightly been abandoned centuries prior. Was this new version filled with ancient corruptions?

Follow along with this story of the bible's controversial twentieth century. Would the work of Hort and Westcott transform scholarship of the Bible, inspiring new Bible Societies and pave the way for the ecumenical unity between Rome, Evangelicals and Protestants?
