Phil Vischer's story and creating Christian entertainment for children

Phil Vischer noticed that although television for children offered positive lessons and encouraged good behavior they were showing that kids could be well-behaved and kind people but with no necessity for God. Making kids have a categorized life. On Sundays at church the word God would always be present but back home when they watched TV, God was not mentioned through the programs being watched. Phil then created VeggieTales and the What's in the Bible series to enrich kids will Bible stories and lessons from the Bible that was to be applied in their everyday life.

Vischer started VeggieTales when he was only 25 years old while living in Chicago. He was looking for a method to combine his beliefs and movie making. With the support of his wife and some of his friends, VeggieTales became a household name for kids. To this day it has sold over 60 million copies and has been featured in uncountable written press. At the top of Phil's success everything changed. Large problems became present and forced him in 2003 to declare bankruptcy. He found himself without his dream and his characters but his faith in God wasn't lost. Instead of losing hope, he knew that all he needed was God. He found himself in a ministry he did not expect to have. With many details, Vischer wrote a book of his experience hoping to inspire others. Later on a new idea called Buck Denver Asks What's in the Bible? Series would come to fruition.

After the bankruptcy, Phil created the Buck Denver Asks What's in the Bible? Series. A series accompanying kids and families through the Bible, explaining each story, their beginnings and their meaning. Phil noticed that the lack of biblical knowledge in the church was a big difficulty as many kids were growing without an understandable comprehension of their faith. What's in the Bible? Series is an attempt to supply children with a strong base of Bible knowledge and of their faith to accompany them in a lasting journey with the Lord.

Besides producing the What's in the Bible series, Phil has developed a ministry speaking infront of different crowds. He's gone around the country speaking at conventions and universities. For example, Baylor University in Texas, Liberty University in Virginia and Pepperdine University in California. Inspiring college kids with his lessons. Making them laugh with his humor and heart which definitely reminded them of the VeggieTales series that most of them watched when they were younger.
