A handsome Washington D.C. doctor and a young New York woman fall in love at a strange time… After they have already gotten married.

Leah Lever was married to a rabbi in the Orthodox faith named Benjamin Lever. His brother Jake is a successful cardiologist and a Jew who does not practice the religion. Jake becomes shocked when his brother Benjamin suddenly dies. He’s not as shocked as when he learns that he must marry his childless sister-in-law according to in the ancient Jewish law and take on his brother Benjamin‘s name. The only other option is to partake in a ceremony where he would deny that his brother ever existed.
