Humpty Dumpty

The first episode in the two-episode series of VeggieTales: The Little House That Stood is a conglomeration of fairy tales that is full of fun and adventure. Meet Humpty Dumpty (played by Bob the Tomato), an egg that is bent on serving himself. He's learned that it's impossible to serve others and so he's determined to make it through life by just serving himself and doing what he wants to do. He finds that this is more of a challenge than he had originally thought, and he begins to wonder if maybe there's more to life than just living on your own and trying to live a selfish life. The mayor of Gooseville, he begins to find his town in a state of disarray after he stops helping others and only serves to help himself. Will Mayor Humpty Dumpty learn the importance of serving others and making good decisions or will his whole town be ruined?

The Little House That Stood

The main feature of VeggieTales: The Little House that Stood is the story of three builders, all of whom have different strategies for building their houses. When three pigs come to town looking for three new homes, they each choose a different builder to help them build their house. Larry and Mr. Lunt, two of the builders, are not well known for their building skills and they can often be found goofing off or making lots of mistakes. While they may know how to build a house, they don't know which materials are good to use, and they miss the most important detail of building a house -- creating a strong foundation. So when two of the pigs recruit Larry and Mr. Lunt to build a house for them, they build them out of weaker materials and forget to build a foundation.

Bob, on the other hand is the wise builder in VeggieTales: The Little House That Stood. He knows the importance of building with durable materials and he makes sure to build his house on a solid foundation, where the house will never fall over or break down under a strong gust of wind. The third little pig, the wisest of the bunch chooses to use Bob as his builder, a decision that later turns out to be an incredibly wise decision. This story is not only a parody of the Three Little Pigs, it's also very similar to the parable told by Jesus in the Gospel, where he tells of a man who builds his house on a solid foundation and another man who builds his house on sand. And in the story in the Bible, the man who builds his house on sand has his house wash away. But the man who built his house on a strong foundation has his house last and he is able to weather any kind of storms that may come down upon his house.

Veggietales: The Little House That Stood is an enjoyable Christian kids' movie for all ages that is well worth a watch.
