When pastor Joseph Beardsley (Peter Sebastian Wrobell) said goodbye to his mother on her deathbed, he also made a promise-- that he would try to help his wayward brother Jimmy (Joseph Nasser) get back on his feet and back to Jesus. When a broken and desperate man robs the church the brothers are repairing- at gunpoint- one brother's sacrifice has lasting effects. WWJD: The Journey Continues is the powerful, faith filled sequel to WWJD: What Would Jesus Do?. With new faces, and old (the drifter played again by John Schneider), WWJD: The Journey Continues reminds viewers of all ages of the power of faith and redemption.

The Film

Pastor Joseph Beardsley was always close to his mother. They shared the same faith, and a similar heart for those around them. Saying goodbye to his dying mother was a difficult moment Joseph was expecting, her request was not. For years Joseph's adopted brother Jimmy has been in jail, and he is soon to be released. Joseph's mother asks him to watch out for Jimmy, and most importantly point him back to Christ. He's tried before, Joseph argues, but his mother has always been stubborn, and so, reluctantly, the pastor from WWJD: The Journey Continues agrees. A few days later his beloved mother is gone, and Joseph is picking up his wayward brother in front of the state prison. It is not exactly a joyous reunion. Meanwhile, in a small town not far away, a young pastor and his pregnant wife have been tirelessly working to bring a church and town back to Jesus. When a terrifying break in occurs at the church, however, the young pastor resigns, fearing for the life of his wife and child. Desperate to find a new pastor, the town hires Joseph (who brings along his not so joyful brother). As the film WWJD: The Journey Continues continues, Joseph and Jimmy slowly but surely repair and rebuild the church, at the same time repairing and rebuilding their own relationship. Only a little bit of time passes, however, before another break in occurs. This time the desperate, broken man (named Jack (Lorenzo Lamas)) confronts the two men, and a tragic accident occurs. Shaken by his loss, Joseph is about to give up. Others in the congregation are as well, especially Jack's wife and Frances (Raquel Elizabeth Ames) two sons Nick (Mike C. Manning) and Matt (Brady Hender) who have been silently hurting for years. Just when it seems the individuals in WWJD: The Journey Continues are about to give up, however, a drifter-- the Drifter-- arrives in town looking for food and offering prayer. As he opens the eyes of the town to the importance of loving and responding like Jesus, will they be able to respond, or are they too broken to repair?

The Prequel

WWJD: The Journey Continues is the sequel to the film WWJD: What Would Jesus Do?. Loosely based on the famous Christian book "In His Steps" by Charles M. Sheldon, finds the struggling town of Raymond sinking fast into the ambitious (and not entirely legal) plans of politician Alex York. Five years earlier the local pastor Henry Maxwell's wife and young son were killed in an accident, and it seems the fortunes of the town and the pastor have not gone up since then. Crushed by loss, sorrow, difficult times, and Alex York's schemes the church is about to give in. Then, much like in the film WWJD: The Journey Continues a mysterious drifter arrives in town, asking everyone to live by one simple idea, "What would Jesus do?" Each member of the congregation takes his words to heart, and the result? A miraculous transformation and an injection of hope and healing into a dying community. WWJD: The Journey Continues carries on the story of the Drifter from WWJD: What Would Jesus Do? as he approaches a new sorrow filled community with the same four simple words.

Themes of Faith and Redemption

The film WWJD: The Journey Continues is filled with inspiring and encouraging messages for viewers of all ages. Perhaps the biggest theme in WWJD: The Journey Continues is the fact that God can redeem any life. From the ex-convict Jimmy, to the sorrow filled pastor Joseph, to the desperate criminal Jack, to his suffering family, God can transform even the most broken of people into loving hearts and faith filled believers. And, as WWJD: The Journey Continues portrays, he uses some of the most unexpected events and unusual of people to bring about his plan. From tragic accidents, to years of darkness, to robbed churches, and shady looking Drifters, God uses the most unexpected to give his Children hope and healing. Hope and healing are also strong themes in WWJD: The Journey Continues. From young to old and everyone in between WWJD: The Journey Continues reminds us that everyone in our world needs hope, and that hope can ultimately only be found in the love of Jesus. Not money, not relationships, but loving Jesus, being loved by Jesus, and loving like Jesus are what bring hope and healing, whether to an individual, family, congregation or town.

WWJD: The Journey Continues is a story that will remind all viewers that God can use every circumstance to bring about good. It will encourage them to remember that no one (not even themselves) are beyond God's reach, and it will challenge them to look in the most unexpected of places to find God's blessings.

WWJD: The Journey Continues has not been rated by the Motion Picture Association of America. This film received the "Faith Friendly" award for ages twelve and up from the Dove Foundation. As always, it is recommend that parents preview all content to determine what is suitable for their children, but the film WWJD: The Journey Continues is considered appropriate for most audiences.
