Veggie Tales: Lord of The Beans

When a small Flobbit named Toto Baggypants receives an unusual gift‰ۡÌÝÌÒa small but powerful bean‰ۡÌÝÌÒhe must choose wisely how he will use it. He is not alone in his quest, however. His mentor Randalf, the fearless ranger Ear-O-Corn, the sharpshooting elf Leg-O-Lamb and the cynical dwarf Grumpy join young Toto to form the Fellowship of the Bean. Will they be able to survive their journey and the threat from Scaryman and discover the purpose of Toto‰ۡó»s gift? From Big Idea Studios comes a hilarious parody of Tolkien‰ۡó»s beloved saga Lord of the Rings‰ۡÌÝÌÒVeggie Tales: Lord of the Beans.

A Bean To Rule Them All

Billboy Baggypant‰ۡó»s is celebrating his 122nd, or Twelfety-twoth, birthday. It is quite the to do, complete with fireworks and a ginormous cake Billboy produces with his mysterious bean. As the party winds down, Billboy returns to his home where he finds his old friend Randalf waiting for him. Randalf has some serious words for Billboy. You see, things have been looking pretty great for Billboy recently. He has fine clothes, a wonderful home, and plenty to eat. . . all of which have come from the magic bean. Randalf warns his friend of the danger of taking the bean‰ۡó»s power to lightly. His friend‰ۡó»s words stir an old desire in Billboy to go on one final quest, so he departs, leaving the bean for his nephew Toto under Randalf‰ۡó»s care.

The young hero of Lord of the Beans, is unaware of the power the bean possesses, however. Curious, Toto questions Randalf, and it is then that Randalf discloses the power the bean possesses. It seems long ago there were four beans, each with a special power. The first bean could produce any kind of food, the second bean could change a veggie‰ۡó»s appearance, the third bean produced the finest clothing, and the fourth bean small kitchen appliances (yes toasters are an option.) But there was a fifth bean. . . a fifth bean that could produce anything, and this was the bean Toto had been gifted. The young hero from Lord of the Beans is not sure he wants to accept such a powerful bean, and he tries to re-gift it to Randalf. But Randalf wisely tells Toto that we cannot choose what gifts we receive, only what we do with them.̴Ì_

Unsure of how to use his gift, Toto sets off on a quest to the Elders of Razzberry forest, to ask for wisdom. But he does not have to face his journey alone. He is joined by the ranger Ear-a-Corn, the elf Leg-O-Lamb, the dwarf Grumpy, and "The Other Elf"...Leg-O-Lamb's brother who had nothing better to dot This unlikely band of travelers sets off as The Fellowship of the Bean.

They have a long trek ahead of them in Veggie Tales: Lord of the Beans. The Mountains of Much Snowia, the Blue Gate, the Razzberry Forest and the Land of Woe lie before them. And when they learn from the Umbrella Boy (cough, cough Tom Bombadil) that ScaryMan and his evil army of Sporks are also after the fifth bean they realize they have more to worry about than the large number of bathroom breaks they seem to be making (it‰ۡó»s a long journey, ok!). And what of their unusual guide named, Ahem? Can he be trusted or does he only want the bean for himself?

Using Our Gifts For Good

While the story of Lord of the Beans is a fun twist on the beloved classic Lord of the Rings, like every Veggie Tale‰ۡó»s movie, Lord of the Beans holds a valuable lesson for viewers of all ages. Toto Baggypants sets off on his journey because he is not sure how to use his gift. In fact, he does not even want his gift. But since it was given to him, he wants to learn how to use it wisely. This is the first valuable lesson in Veggie Tales: Lord of the Beans‰ۡÌÝÌÒwanting to use our gifts with wisdom, and seeking that wisdom out. So often it is easy to throw away our gifts, or use them unwisely, but Veggie Tales: Lord of the Beans is a valuable reminder that we should first consider what the wisest way to use our gifts are. To use our gifts with knowledge and discretion, and when we are not sure what the wisest way is, to seek out others that can give us that wisdom.

The second valuable lesson in Veggie Tales: Lord of the Beans, is using our gifts for good. Billyboy, Ahem, and Scaryman all used or desired the bean for their own amusement or power. Toto, on the other hand, wants to use his gift for good. And not only good, but for the good of others.

Conclusion
