Eternal Salvation is an inspiring film about the story of Jonathan Wright, a high-powered banker who seemingly has it all. With a hopeful career with a high-powered future, a loving wife, and 7 year old daughter, Wright sees life as positive with holding a lot of promise. With so much ahead of him, it seems as nothing could possibly go wrong with Jonathan's life. That is until one day when he suffers a horrible brain aneurysm that threatens to take everything he's worked for all these years away from him. After barely surviving, Jonathan sees his life in a whole new light. Realizing that his life could end at any moment, he begins to look fora serious purpose in his life. He begins to wonder what it all means, why he lives and what the point of his whole life is. This leads him on an incredible journey that will forever change the course of his life. Looking for eternal purpose and significance, Jonathan Wright finds himself on a bigger journey than even he anticipated.
We had the opportunity to sit down with Tim Gautier to discuss his work on the film. He was able to give us some insights into the behind the scenes and give helpful advice for others looking to make a Christian film. His thoughts are below:
Q: Tim, can you give us a summary of Eternal Salvation? What is this film about and what do you want to communicate to your audience?
Eternal Salvation is the story of high-powered investment banker Jonathan Wright (Bradley Snedeker). Jonathan has everything that the world can offer, a promising career, beautiful wife (Jessica Morris), gorgeous 7-year-old daughter (Isabella Cuda) and countless friends. Just when he thinks he’s reached the pinnacle of success, he suffers a life-threatening brain aneurysm that leaves him in a medically induced coma. After regaining consciousness, he is determined to find the true meaning of life, which leads him on spiritual journey for truth.
My intention with “Eternal Salvation” was to show that one can have all the riches that the world can offer, but without God, family and health it’s meaningless. I also wanted to showcase the powerful friendship between the characters Jonathan and Paul (Darren Dupree Washington). Paul is a faithful Christian, and Jonathan is not kind to him in the beginning of the movie. Ironically, Paul becomes Jonathan’s spiritual mentor. I wanted the character Paul to be the embodiment of Christ’s love in the film. The character Paul is the person that I wish I could be in life. He’s forgiving, understanding and patient. These are qualities that I’m striving to possess someday.
Q: Tell us a little about the journey to making Eternal Salvation. What led you to make a drama?
Wow…Where do I start? The journey to making “ES” began three years ago while taking afternoon walks with my wife, Gina, who is an executive producer on the film. The idea for the film came from God. I must give credit where credit is due.
He gave me a burning desire to tell a story of redemption and salvation.
Q: What do you want people to take away from this film?
My hope is that people will watch the film and feel the forgiving love of Christ. I want people to know that no matter what they’ve done to separate themselves from God, He is waiting with open arms for them to return to Him…You are not condemned…Jesus Loves You!
Q: Do you have any current plans for future films? What are you working on now?
Well, currently I’m engrossed in the distribution of “Eternal Salvation”. We formed a production and distribution company to release the film independently and it’s a tremendous undertaking. I’m considering numerous projects that are in various stages of development. There’s been so much enthusiasm for the release of “Eternal Salvation”, that there’s talk about a sequel. We’re also excited about being selected to the 2016 International Christian Film Festival with two nominations (Best Actor in a feature film - Bradley Snedeker) and (Best Director in the feature film category - Reed Simonsen). The film is also the official movie for the 2016 North American Christian Convention (NACC), and will be screening at this year‘s event.
Q: It must be satisfying to bring a project like this to completion. What would you say to encourage someone who is launching a new project or creating a film of their own?
Yes, it’s very rewarding to shepherd a film project from concept to completion. My advise to anyone launching a new project or creating a film of their own, is to hone your skills and surround yourself with smart and talented people. Be certain to work with people who have a passion for your project and share your vision for the project. Also, be open to change. Filmmaking is a fluid and collaborative endeavor; allow people to share your dream and enhance it with their brilliance. One more thing, don’t take yourself too seriously and have fun…you’re making a film, baby!!!
Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, Tim! We really appreciate getting to hear some of your stories and experiences.

Eternal Salvation is about Jonathan, who has built a successful career working for an investment banking firm. He has done whatever it takes to get ahead in this competitive industry and has quite the reputation for success. While in his prime, Jonathan has a brain aneurysm that leaves him comatose. After he wakes up and begins the long road of recovery, Jonathan begins seeing that there may be more to life than he thought and that perhaps winning at any cost wasn't the way he wanted to do business. Jonathan finds a friend in the last person he would have expected and they journey together to help him discover what is important in life.
If I were to pick this movie up and judge it by the front cover, I probably wouldn't give it much thought. It's hard to tell what it is about or that it is anything that would interest me. I am certainly glad I gave it a chance. This is a great movie for a movie night within your small group or even just to watch at home. It is certainly family friendly, although it wouldn't appeal to young children. Eternal Salvation kept my attention throughout the entire movie and I found myself investing in these characters emotionally, caring about what happened to them. I thought the acting was good and the message was powerful. I would highly recommend this movie and its message. (Posted on 8/27/16)
Eternal Salvation is an excellent Christian movie. The wooden acting that has plagued some Christian films is no where to be found in this movie. The plot will grab your attention throughout. My wife and children watched this film with me and we give it a family thumbs up. You will love this Dove-approved Eternal Salvation DVD.
The story is of an unsaved family man who is a high-profile investment banker. He survives a brain aneurysm, but faces struggles in recovery and with his job and protege. Through that difficult time and the help of a Christian friend he finds Christ. There are more issues after his salvation that help him deepen his faith. His wife and daughter find the Lord as well. There is fine drama in telling this story that makes for a fine viewing experience.
I might quibble over the portrayal of his daughter’s conversion. It was not made clear that she had to have a personal faith herself. Plus my children all noticed that she was an older girl than the part she was playing. Still, this is a film I recommend for your family. (Posted on 8/27/16)
In this movie, Jonathan Wright has an incredible life with a beautiful family, great job, and big circle of friends. He believes that climbing the corporate ladder of success is one way to keep his family living in the same lifestyle they’ve been accustomed to. Jonathan suffers a brain aneurysm and subsequent coma. His life-threatening condition becomes a catalyst for God to touch his life.
Eternal Salvation demonstrated the salvation message in a manner that was devoid of a “preachy” tone. It showed real-life situations, the true message of the Bible, and good acting on the part of the actors involved. There were many touching moments throughout the movie—such as one of the hospital scenes where Jonathan’s friend, Paul, prayed for him and told him to “keep the faith and be strong.”
This movie offers viewers a good description of what it means to be a true Christian at work, while experiencing difficult persecution for your belief in Christ. Jonathan develops a strong friendship with his colleague, Paul, who demonstrates true unconditional love for others. Paul invites Jonathan to a Bible study and encourages him through prayer and studying the word of God. Jonathan becomes a Christian and understands the message of salvation through God’s grace. This movie is worth watching, and I gave it a 4/5 rating. (Posted on 8/27/16)
Jonathan Wright has got a lot going right in his life...he has been successful with his job, he has a beautiful wife, and a daughter that is a blessing. His coworker kind of bugs him with his Jesus talk, even though he's a very kind man who takes his joking and mean remarks without lashing out. In the blink of an eye, Jonathan and his family's life changes when he experiences a brain aneurysm. His "annoying" coworker visits him in the hospital in a very meaningful way that helps to change his life forever for the better, while the man that was more of a "friend" to him at work kept his distance more than he would have liked when he was going through this hardship.
The good parts of this story after something terrible happens to a man and his family are like what I hope would happen to other people going through hard times as well. I loved how Scripture was brought up at different points in the film and the explanations of those Scriptures. The change in Jonathan's speech and vision after he had the first brain episode made what his character went through more real to me.
One thing I struggled with in the film is when it was explained that people who follow Jesus are not under the law, because I believe God writes parts of his law (instructions) on people's hearts (such as The Ten Commandments otherwise known as The Ten Words).
This is a nice family-based film that I believe is great for people ages twelve and over to watch. There are some hard to understand situations that happen and then there are some very beautiful moments, which may stir the hearts of some people that have already given their lives over to Jesus and people that haven't yet. There are many topics in the film that a lot of people should connect with, such as family, work, and reaching out to others.
My review= 4.5 out of 5 stars
I received this dvd free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
