Synopsis

The Encounter Movie is a story about five strangers who are thrown together in a mysterious and unexpected situation. Each is very different and has his or her own story. They all have baggage and scars, as well as something that they are struggling with.

In The Encounter, Nick, a former NFL player, is a very stubborn man. He is prideful of his accomplishments and very arrogant when it comes to knowledge. He believes that his way is the only correct way and that no one can or should tell him what to do with his life. He does not take correction well.

Hank and Catherine are married to each other in The Encounter Movie, but are struggling in their relationship. They have a hard time communicating with each other and this is causing great problems in their marriage. Each is too prideful to admit when they are wrong, and they do not know how to go about saving their relationship.

Melissa is a young woman that is on the way to visit her boyfriend. She is a Christian, but is dating an atheist man. The Encounter Movie shows that she knows that this is the wrong thing to do, and she has made wrong choices and is dealing with the consequences.

The final stranger in The Encounter Movie, Kayla, is a young woman who is a hitchhiker. She is trying to run from her past and escape from the horrendous living situation that was her home. She is broken and filled with pain and bitterness, but longs to find healing and a fresh start.

Each of the characters in The Encounter Movie is unique and interesting. Though they are vastly different, they all have one thing in common; they are broken. Each and every one of them needs healing, but in a different way. The only one who can offer them this healing is Jesus Christ himself.

As they are all traveling toward different destinations in The Encounter, a detour road is blocked off. This is the only road that allows them to arrive at their destination, so they are forced to stop at a diner to wait out the road block. When they walk into the diner, the owner walks out and greets them all. He is a very warm and welcoming man that seems to be able to relate to any situation in life.

As they order their food, the owner strikes up conversations with each of him. He has this undeniable quality that makes them all want to be open with them. Eventually, in The Encounter Movie, they reveal their secrets and what they are struggling with to him.

The Encounter Movie continues with Hank and Catherine explaining that they are having problems with their marriage and don't know how to save their relationship. Together, they learn how to communicate and start on the road to healing.

As this man talks to Kayla, he finds out that she is running from a bad situation. She is hurt and confused, unsure of where to go from here. Everyone in the world, it seems, has turned against her and her life is falling apart. The owner helps Kayla figure out what she wants to do with her future, and helps her find healing in her heart in order to forgive those who have wronged her. The Encounter Movie is at its heart, a story of redemption.

Melissa tells her story about dating a non-believer. Though she knows this is wrong, she believes that she is in love and isn't willing to change. Her heart is pained thinking of the coming decision that she will be forced to face. In The Encounter Movie, The mysterious owner helps her think out the long-term consequences of dating someone who does not believe the things that she holds dear.

The one man who refuses to listen to the owner in The Encounter Movie is Nick. Though he needs healing just as desperately as the others, he refuses to listen to what the owner has to say. He does not think that he needs any help, and so refuses to accept it.

Throughout each of the conversations, it is discreetly revealed in The Encounter that the mysterious owner of the diner is Jesus. He knows so much about each and every one of the strangers trapped in the diner, and he has words that bring divine healing.

A man named Officer Deville comes into the diner before Jesus can convince Nick to change his ways. He informs the patrons that the road has reopened, and Nick quickly heads back out onto the road with Officer Deville. In The Encounter Movie, as the others finish up their conversations with Jesus, they all reach a decision that changes their lives. They choose to follow Christ and become believers.

Everyone attempts to leave the diner at the end of The Encounter Movie and continue on with their lives. However, they receive news from a police officer that the road is closed again due to a mysterious accident. They inquire about Officer Deville, but the police officers says that he knows no one working for the force that is named that.

This car accident involved Nick and Officer Deville. Both are killed in the crash, and the characters speculate that Officer Deville is actually the devil in disguise. The Encounter is a dramatic film that contains deep themes of healing and redemption. Thought provoking and compelling, this Christian film is unique and inspiring.
